MUSIC LESSON TERMS AND CONDITIONS
STUDENT POLICY
Brighton Music Center is committed to creating a positive learning and teaching environment for its students and staff. For this reason, it is important that all students and parents understand and abide by the studio policies as outlined.
Tuition Payment
Teachers are responsible for setting their lesson rate for 30 minute lesson blocks. These rates are listed with their bios on our website. Teachers are responsible for communicating with their students about rate changes.
Effective July 1, 2024
Lessons are prepaid. The monthly tuition is paid on the 1st of the month with a reminder sent after 7 days for the month by automatic withdrawal from your credit, debit card, or bank. If your lesson enrollment starts mid-month, the first billing is prorated. If tuition is not paid after the 7-day grace period, the instructor and store have a right to cancel/withhold lessons until payment is made in full.
If tuition is not paid after the 7-day grace period, the instructor and store have a right to cancel/withhold lessons until payment is made in full. If the balance has not been paid within 15 days of the invoice, a late fee of $25 will be charged onto the account. If the account is behind 2 or more payments, the reserved lesson time is removed and lessons will be put on hold until balance is paid.
Lessons are given on a month-to-month basis and may be canceled for the end of any month.
All students will sign the Student Policy to the instructor and Brighton Music Center via their OPUS account, assuring they understand and agree to Brighton Music Center’s policies.
Student Cancelation Policy
Students must cancel their lesson through communication with the instructor. If there is an emergency and the student/parent is unable to reach the instructor, please login to your Opus account and cancel the lesson there. All cancellations under 24 hours are under discretion of the instructor whether or not a Credit will be granted.
If enough notice is given for a cancellation, the lesson will be marked as Not Billable and a monetary credit OR a Make-Up lesson credit will be applied as decided by the instructor. If a student wishes to pause lessons, payments will be put on hold and the lesson time will not be reserved. When they wish to continue lessons, they must contact the store or the instructor to be scheduled again.
Monetary Credits
If an instructor discerns an absence valid for a monetary credit, their attendance will reflect as such. The credit will then be automatically applied to the following month’s tuition.
Make-Up Lesson Credits
If an instructor discerns an absence valid for a make-up credit, and offers make-up lessons, their attendance will reflect as such. Students are responsible for scheduling their Make-up Lesson Credits through their OPUS account. Make-up credits will expire after 45 days. If the Make-up credit expires, then that lesson credit is forfeited.
